Build your hazard log
From the very start of your project, SafetyLogix allows you to effortlessly capture the hazards you identify, specify the causes of those hazards and then clearly articulate how each cause has been individually mitigated. Using a logical diagrammatic representation of the hazard log, you can move ideas around, easily identify gaps and highlight important material.
At Safehand we’ve learned that there is no single ideal format for a hazard log document. With SafetyLogix you can capture your data in the tool and then transform it into different formats for different purposes. With two clicks, you can output the data in Safehand’s traditional format – a popular, easily-readable version, ideal for workshops and for finalised data presentation to senior management. Or you can select the NHS England format, a format of your own in Excel, or just extract some data of interest such as externally mitigated controls.
With SafetyLogix you can maintain hazard logs for all your different DCB 0129/0160 projects in the same place and control who has access to which materials. You can even select hazards from one project and copy them into a new project as a starting point for your next analysis.

- Hazard logs in different styles and formats – PDF, Excel and raw data
- Collaborate with colleagues on the same hazard log
- Reuse content between one project and another
- Complete audit of hazard log changes
- Control the level of detail you see
- No endless scrolling of spreadsheets
- No cell merging or ‘greying out’
- No losing track of different versions being worked on at the same time
- No losing material like a needle in haystack
Analyse and Score
Analysing your data is at the heart of determining the level of risk and its acceptability. With SafetyLogix you can sort, filter and search different aspects of the hazard log to get just the right view of the data you need.
The interactive risk matrix allows you to specify severity, likelihood and clinical risk for a hazard in a single click. Coupled with an ALARP indicator, you can quickly score hazards and document your reasoning and justification.
Controls are categorised into types making evidencing a breeze. Stakeholders in your test, training and configuration teams can work collaboratively in SafetyLogix to document proof of control implementation. Using status tracking, you can see exactly where you’re up to with every control in the hazard log, all in one place.

- Sort, filter and group content to target stakeholder groups
- Search large hazard logs for hard-to-find material
- Highlight content for further review
- Clearly indicate when ALARP has been achieved
- Evidence your decision-making and reasoning

“Using SafetyLogix has made a huge difference for our NHS Foundation Trust – it’s so intuitive and easy to use that we were able to create, edit, and publish hazard logs in half the time it used to take with spreadsheets. The clear training materials and expert support made it simple to get started, and it is clear that careful thought went into designing a tool that’s genuinely invaluable for anyone working in clinical safety.”
